News

  • Friends,
    That was incredible.
More than 400,000 people showed up in the streets of New York yesterday to voice the loudest, strongest, clearest call for action on climate change the world has ever seen. There's never been a march for climate justice close to that size before.
Now, on Tuesday, when 125 heads of state gather to talk about the climate crisis, they'll be doing it with our voices ringing in their ears. They'll be gathering with the knowledge that more people than ever are taking to the streets demanding action, not just words, to protect the future of our planet.
This march came out of months of hard work, building connections with people far and wide, and for all the success of yesterday, it's ultimately about what we do when we're in our own communities. It's about next week, next month, next year. But this is a turning point - a huge step forward in our calls for climate justice.
At the same time, today is a day to celebrate - what happened was truly unprecedented. So while we take a day (or even two) to relax, recharge, and think about what comes next, we wanted to share with you some of the images that really drive the power of the march home for us.
This one in particular is one of our favorite graphics - click on it to share it with your networks and pass on your favorite memories from Sunday and why you marched.
The best part is, the People's Climate March wasn't just about New York. There were more than 2,600 events around the world this weekend in over 150 countries. This weekend was a moment to show that our movements are growing globally.
We showcased our strength, our resiliency, and our capacity to come together when needed--whether that means in the streets or to respond to crisis. We are moving towards a brighter and more just future -- and we couldn't have said that louder to world leaders than we did yesterday.
The entire weekend was filled with incredible photographs -- both in New York and around the world. We've put together a gallery of some of our favorites for you to see.

If you have your own photos or videos, send it to us - you can see instructions for that here.
Thank you for making the People's Climate March historic -- it was powerful beyond anything we could have expected.
